Pet Paws November 6th 2018
We will be on location at Okanagan College in Kelowna for the first Pet Paws event. We will be there on Tuesday November 6th from 1130- 1 pm in the Pit at the Student Services Building. This is one of 4 Pets and People Events that will take place at Okanagan College giving students and staff the opportunity to enjoy some pet therapy time. The next Pet Paws Event will take place December 6th at the College from 1130-1 pm

Our feature at Kelowna Airport
Our Society are bringing their pets to Kelowna Airport as a part of a pilot project as dog ambassadors. The Program started in September of 2017.
Golden-doodle Jeepster and owner Pauline Harmatny have been walking the halls of YLW since the program started. More volunteers are being trained to work at the Airport . Soon there will be 8 Dog Ambassadors to provide stress relief and anxiety for travelers travelling to or from Kelowna Airport

The Dog Ambassador program, at Kelowna Airport was started last year and now eight handlers and their dogs have been certified as Ambassadors to provide pet therapy to travellers arriving or departing from Kelowna Airport.

February 7th was Okanagan College’s Stress Busters Event.
Our members were on hand to help students relieve stress during Mid Term Exams. Along with the many other activities, 8 of our furry Volunteers kept students happy.
Enjoying all the attention from the students were
Chester, Luna, Pierce, Finnegan, Mandy, Rose, Tobi and Elli.
Okanagan College Students enjoyed visiting with all the dogs over their lunchbreak.
Our furry volunteers will be back to visit with Okanagan College Students in early March and April .
